Why should I become a Member?
The VACPSP is the trusted and influential professional Catholic, Victorian, Primary Principal voice. Informed by the Principal Council Members (currently serving Principals from across the dioceses), the VACPSP is consulted on matters of importance by key stakeholders including governing bodies and government statewide and nationally.
By joining, your experience forms part of the knowledge base and together we form a unified and informed position to take to discussions.
Being a paid up member will also entitle you to vote at the AGM held in November each year where matters of importance are decided.
Am I the Member or is my school?
The subscription belongs to your school and thus is payable by the school giving you membership. Should you change schools your membership would continue if that school had paid the annual subscription. However should you choose to pay the membership personally please feel free to do so.
What are the Membership fees?
The current membership fee is determined by the size of your school, linked to the number of children enrolled as at the 1/11 each year, payable by 31st December each year, after the annual general meeting of the VACPSP Inc. Please see the table below to determine the right fee (includes GST) you should pay.

What about National representation?
The VACPSP Membership fee includes ACPPA (Australian Catholic Primary Principals Association) membership fee. This means by becoming a VACPSP Member you are also an ACPPA member.
Is my voice really heard?
Yes! The VACPSP provides the Catholic, Primary Principal perspective, common voice, experience, knowledge and community perspective. School context, lived experience and ‘on the ground’, real-time needs are central to informed policy, funding and improvement, with the goal of better outcomes for students and improving the lives of all. Through the Principal Council, your experience forms part of the knowledge base and together we form a unified and informed position to take to discussions.
We also welcome direct contact at any time by a VACPSP Member to the VACPSP President.

Who are the Principal Council? Can I join?
The Principal Council is made up of Representatives from across the dioceses to ensure consistency and balance in VACPSP advocacy and consideration of issues impacting all Victorian Principals.
The Principal Council’s fundemental role is to bring knowledge from the lived Principal experience in their area to to inform VACPSP consultation on policy and program development, as well as take back relevant updates, learning opportunities and resources from VACPSP to their area.

Where does my Membership fee go?
As well as paying your membership to the national bodies (ACPPA and APPA), the contribution goes toward funding the full-time president’s position, funding of the Business Management Services and other contractors as required, supporting the Association’s two major events; the biennial conference and the biennial President’s Ball Principal Awards, commercial products as supplied annually (e.g. leadership books and personal compendium), administrative costs including insurance, Principal Council meetings and professional services.
What is the President's Levy?
To best serve members, it was voted that a full-time President was required. The role of the VACPSP President has become a full time role and we are so grateful the Association has grown to be a highly respected, leading professional body in Australia.
All members can nominate for executive roles (President, Deputy, Secretary and Treasurer). The roles are elected for two-year terms at the October Annual General Meeting.
When do my enrolment numbers get set?
The number corresponds to total enrolments and invoicing is scaled accordingly. Enrolment numbers are calculated as at 1 November for the following membership calendar year. I.e. the 2023 invoice reflects your enrolments as of 1 November 2022. If the numbers have since changed, please email admin@vacpsp.org.au
